The RecordExhibit 39
Epstein's accomplice moved to a minimum-security camp
CriticizedLast checked Sep 30, 2026
Criticized means: Legal, or a policy choice, but widely condemned.
Ghislaine Maxwell, serving 20 years for child sex trafficking, was moved to a minimum-security prison camp a week after a two-day interview with Deputy AG Todd Blanche, Trump's former defense lawyer.
What happened
Bureau of Prisons policy generally bars sex offenders from minimum-security camps. Maxwell is seeking a commutation, and Trump said he is allowed to pardon her.
Where it stands
No ruling. Members of Congress have questioned the timing.
The administration's side
Blanche says the Bureau of Prisons moved her because of threats against her life.
